At the Academy’s Physical Training Program, players receive specialized athletic treatment from our resident fitness Gurus. Academy fitness programs are designed to comprise the following core themes :
Agility: Improve tennis specific movements, quickness, speed & power by way of specialized drills, efficient technique and adaptive work.
Fitness: Enhance fitness with concentrated anaerobic, aerobic and strength training.
Flexibility: Tennis is a ballistic sport and consistent flexibility work can greatly improve a player’s recovery time, strength & range of movement, and help prevent injuries.
Lifestyle/Nutrition: Learn what the body needs to achieve peak performance. How to fuel, hydrate, rest, and achieve a balance of these, which champions need to compete.
Strength Training: Increase strength in core tennis specific areas that combine to create overall enhanced power – the key ingredient for the modern player’s explosive tennis movements.
All Academy players start their training program with Academy fitness testing and drills. The Academy’s Fitness Providers then offer training and advice to help each player understand their own fitness level.
Academy Trainers can create a customized training program with individualized goal setting that integrates with the player’s daily training schedule.
Academy has Personal Trainers available for Individual Training Appointments with special pricing for Academy players.
The Academy also has its own team of Fitness Services Professionals, including a qualified masseuse and physiotherapist.
