ACADEMY DIRECTOR - High Performance Coach Certified Academy Director - Chris Steel, has acquired his High Performance Coach qualifications through Tennis Australia. Chris graduated the 2 year course during the Australian Open and was rewarded with complimentary tickets to the Presidents Reserve seating on Margaret Court Arena for Roger Federer's first round match. "the course was a great opportunity to expand my knowledge whilst also learning from the other coaches enrolled in the course" Chris says. The course covered a wide variety of topics including Recovery Strategies, Strength and Conditioning, Biomechanics, Tactics and Strategies, Video Analysis, Match Analysis, Tournament Scheduling, Nutrition, Research and Development, Pre-hab & Re-Hab strategies, & Injury Prevention. This makes Pat Cash ITA the only Academy style program in QLD to possess a coaching staff with a Level 3 High Performance qualified coach.
Welcome to the Academy !
In the early 1980’s, as tennis became a fully professional sport, Pat Cash was developing the skills which would take him to a Wimbledon crown and five Grand Slam finals, two Davis Cup victories and a ranking of number four in the world.
Almost twenty years later, Pat has created a unique training and coaching academy combining the sport sciences with the discipline of hard work. The programs at The Pat Cash International Tennis Academy have been developed from Pat’s many years of learning during his playing career, his analytical approach to television commentary and, most recently, the application of his knowledge in coaching on the professional tour.
The Pat Cash International Tennis Academy has been established at the internationally renowned, Hope Island Resort, on the exciting Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. A 40 minute drive from Brisbane International airport, and a 15 minute drive to the Gold Coast’s famous beaches, the resort is situated on 360 hectares of some of Australia’s most beautiful, waterfront surroundings. The magnificent setting is at a level commensurate with Pat's vision as a leader in tennis training today and into the future.
