Boardwalk Tavern makes a name on Hope Island
The latest addition to Hope Island Resort, the Boardwalk
Tavern, has been an instant hit quickly establishing itself
as the premier dining and social centre on the northern Gold
Coast
The official opening of the new $9.5 million Boardwalk
Tavern at the resort’s marina village was held two
months ago and since then ‘word of mouth’ promotion
has seen the Boardwalk Tavern take-off.
Hope Island Resort’s
general manager, Peter Saba, said the new Boardwalk Tavern
had become the social and
entertainment heart of the resort. “ The tavern is the latest addition to the Hope Island
Resort community and it is proving to be a big winner,” he
said. “ It is designed so that the expansive timber
deck sits out over the water overlooking the marina making
it
the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal or meet for
a drink.”
In total the tavern is 1700 square metres
which includes an 120 square metre specialty bottle shop,
the Hope Island
Wine Emporium, with a wide selection of wines.
The tavern
was constructed by Walker Group Constructions and finished
in July with the first trading day being July
15.
Mr Saba said the Hope Island marina, the Marina Village
Shopping Centre, Boardwalk Tavern and a selection of other
restaurants and shops overlooking the water were a major
new facility for the whole northern end of the Gold Coast.
In
total the precinct including the tavern, commercial and
office space is valued at $22 million and comprises
more than 3000 square metres of space, which is all let. “ In developing Hope Island Resort our goal is to
create a community with community facilities and a heart
and soul,” he said. “ The golf club and clubhouse
has served that role for many years and now with the Boardwalk
Tavern we have
a greatly expanded facility for residents and other people
living on the northern end of the Coast.”
Hope Island
Resort residents have golf buggy access to the tavern and
the marina.
The Boardwalk Tavern has a gaming
lounge, a large plan dining area, a 300 square metre kitchen,
sports bar with
large screen television and a seamless border between indoor
areas and the expansive outdoor undercover deck.
